Promoting Friendship in Song…
Our chorus features 4th and 5th grade students, and meets after school on Monday afternoons from 2:20 until 3:15 in the Music Room. Interested students, who have a passion for performance, have an opportunity to audition at the beginning of the school year. This group represents Friendship at local events in the community, as well as at school musicals and other school functions.
Although all students actively explore musical concepts related to choral singing in music class, being a chorus member gives them additional vocal training and performance experiences. In addition to learning proper vocal techniques through singing alone and with others, being a member of a performance ensemble enhances self-esteem, builds social and teamwork skills, and provides a creative outlet for expression.
