A written excuse, signed by the parents, or doctor&#8217;s note is required within 5 days of the absence, for each absence <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">from school. The\u00a0nature of the absence determines whether it is excusable.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">B. Excused absences include the following:<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">1. Illnesses<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">2. Family emergencies <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">3. Pre-Arranged doctor and dentist appointments <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">4. Authorized school activities <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">5. Special and religious holidays observed by the student&#8217;s faith <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">6. Conditions rendering school attendance impossible or hazardous to the child&#8217;s health<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">C. Students checking out of school before 11:00 will be counted absent.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">D. A student cannot receive an adequate education with chronic absences. Students should attend school every day.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">E. If a child misses seven (7) days during any semester, his\/her name will be reported\u00a0to the school social worker. If a student misses more than ten (10) days, parents will\u00a0be requested to have a conference with the school principal.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: times new roman,times;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">F. Instruction begins at 7:50 a.m.; therefore, any student arriving after that time will be\u00a0marked as tardy.
